IT’S SIMPLE
Polluters profit off of products that cause damage,
so polluters should pay for the damage.
Fossil fuels account for about 90% of the heat trapping carbon pollution contributing to climate change. This threatens our future and causes the increasingly extreme weather we’re all feeling today: increasingly dangerous storms, extreme heat, devastating flooding, droughts, and wildfires.
These extreme weather events are already costing us billions––soon to be trillions––in clean-up costs and protective measures.
Big polluters make trillions off the products causing this damage, while everyday taxpayers are stuck with the bill for the damage.
We need to make the polluters pay for the costs their products create.
